As a birth professional, you will find that clients frequently ask you for referrals to other birth/baby/health related services. It’s a good practice to have a prepared list of resources that you can share with them. Use the categories in this document to begin to create a comprehensive resource list for your community.
Think of people and businesses you already know, and ask people you trust for recommendations. Culturally relevant peer support is vital, so be sure to find practitioners who are Black, Indigenous and other people of color, LGBTQ+ (or explicitly welcoming), and from the communities that you serve.
