Labyrinth for Birth

The labyrinth can be understood as a universal map for any rite of passage or initiatory ordeal, regardless of its specific events and outcomes.
In this class, you explore the concept of how birth is like a heroic journey and learn how to use the symbol of the labyrinth as a map for the internal experience of birth/the childbearing year to help better prepare the parents you support.

This workshop is presented in spoken English. Automated captions are available. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. Class time is 2.5 hours and facilitated live on Zoom by a certified Birthing from Within trainer.
Before the course.
-
-one sheet of art paper (at least 11" x 14")
-a small set of chalk pastels (not oil)
-a sheet or drop cloth to place under your paper for ease in cleaning up (optional)
If you are not able to purchase these items or don't have them on hand, you can use other art supplies but we do recommend the chalk pastels, if possible.

If you’re interested in a deeper dive, join Birth as a Heroic Journey, our Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator training. This 7 module self-paced course offers the opportunity to certify as a birth doula, a childbirth educator, or both! It includes an online course with live interactive calls with an instructor, so that you are supported through each step of your learning process.
